FinTech assessments reward the student who can explain what a technology actually replaces. FI310 samples take one payment rail, lending model or platform and trace what it removed from the old process, and what that removal cost.

How this shelf works

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your classroom and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. FI310 is Purdue Global’s FinTech Principles and Concepts course. It centers on explaining how a financial technology changes an existing process, and what the change costs as well as saves. What FI310 is really about

FI310 is an introductory course carrying a graduate-sounding vocabulary, and the mismatch trips people up. The assessments do not ask you to build anything. They ask what a technology does to a financial process that already existed, which means describing the old process accurately before the new one can be evaluated. Papers that jump straight to the innovation tend to praise it vaguely, because there is nothing to compare it against. Instructors read a great deal of enthusiastic writing about disruption, and the submissions that stand out are the ones that can name the specific step a technology eliminated and the specific party who used to be paid for performing it.

The second thing the course wants is balance. Every FinTech advance shifts a cost or a risk rather than abolishing it, and assessments are usually written so that the tradeoff is findable. Faster settlement moves risk somewhere; automated underwriting changes who gets declined and on what basis; a platform that removes an intermediary also removes whatever protection that intermediary provided. Answers that treat a technology as straightforwardly better tend to score in the middle no matter how well written they are. Where a unit supplies a company or a product, the criteria generally expect specifics about that one rather than general observations about the sector.

What FI310’s assessments ask for

Opening units typically ask for a description of a traditional financial process, since everything later in the term is measured against it. Middle units usually pair a technology with a use case and ask what changed, who benefits and who absorbs the new risk. Comparison assignments are common, setting two approaches side by side and asking which fits a described institution, where the fit matters more than the ranking. Later units in many sections ask for a short recommendation to a firm considering adoption, with the cost stated. Discussion boards frequently ask you to bring a product you personally use and analyze it, while seminar hours often examine one company together.

Where students lose points in FI310

The largest loss is the technology described with no baseline, leaving nothing for the reader to measure the improvement against. Second is the paper that finds only benefits, which the criteria are usually designed to catch. Third is vocabulary used as evidence, where terms like distributed, frictionless or real-time appear repeatedly without explaining what any of them do in the process under discussion. Marks also go for adoption recommendations that skip implementation cost and regulatory exposure, for company examples described from marketing material rather than from how the product actually works, and for claims about market size or growth that carry no source. A final deduction goes to papers that name a technology in the title and then analyze the company instead, never quite reaching the mechanism the unit was about.

Using a FI310 sample the right way

Read a sample for its baseline paragraph first, the one describing how the process worked before. That paragraph is doing more than it appears to, because every later judgment depends on it being right. Then follow how the writer prices the tradeoff, naming who now carries a risk that someone else used to carry. Notice how sparingly the sector vocabulary is used once real mechanics are on the page. Then write your own against the product or firm your unit named, since the analysis is only as good as the specific case behind it. Upload the brief your section posted and one worked example comes back at no cost, usually the following day.

How these samples are written

The discipline behind every paper here: the rubric is the outline, each row gets its section, seminar-option write-ups follow their expected shape, and the format layer ships exact. Send your unit's instructions with a request and the sample matches them, revisions included.

FI310 questions, answered

Do I need a technical background for this course?

No, and the assessments are not written for one. You are asked to explain what a technology does to a financial process, not how it is engineered. Being able to say clearly that a step was removed and who used to be paid for it matters far more here than being able to describe the underlying architecture.

How current do my examples need to be?

Recent enough to still be true. This sector changes quickly, and a company described as a startup after it has been acquired, or a product discussed as though a discontinued feature still exists, undercuts everything around it. Check the current state of anything you name, and say when your description is as of.

Is it acceptable to criticize a technology the unit is covering?

Yes, and it is usually the stronger move when the criticism is specific. Assessments here are built around tradeoffs, so a paper identifying what a technology costs is answering the question more completely than one that only lists advantages. Support the criticism with the mechanism rather than with general skepticism.
